Campus & Facilities

Campus

The Learning Castle and La Cañada Preparatory are located at the heart of an affluent, professional, LA/Pasadena-area community.  Nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, the city of La Cañada Flintridge is six miles west of Pasadena, directly north of Glendale, and 14 miles north of downtown Los Angeles.   Founded in 1992, the school has 400 students enrolled in grades Pre-K through 8.

Facilities

The Learning Castle and La Cañada Preparatory reside on the former campus of the Foothill Intermediate School and therefore benefit from the many facilities associated with this former LCUSD site.  The academic campus consists of eighteen classrooms, three computer labs, two science labs, two art rooms and two offices.  TLC and LCP also have access to three large athletic fields, eight tennis courts, a full-sized gymnasium, a dance room, and the Lanterman Auditorium.

Technology

La Cañada Prep has a thirteen-station computer lab dedicated to computer-related studies.  The LCP computer lab stations are equipped with the latest software to teach word processing, computer-aided design, programming, web design, and typing.

To provide digital support to the core subjects of language arts, math, history and science, La Cañada Prep also has a twenty-four-station computer resource lab, at least one computer in every classroom, and a SmartBoard in most classrooms.  With gigabit access points in every classroom, LCP is preparing to move to a 1:1 technology ratio over the next few months.
