Ladybugs

In the ladybugs program, students get a chance to use their observation skills as they explore our pond and bamboo garden in Exploration Grove. They will discuss the parts and life cycle of insects, as the class constructs a large ladybug. Although observation is the focus of this program, our facilitators also guide students in hands-on investigations of real ladybugs. Read more

Boats and Balance

By building their own model sailboats, students investigate design and energy needed to move across the 40' x 20' Water Works pool. After becoming familiar with the boat names, students are given a variety of sizes for each part of the affect the performance of their boat. By keeping data in a class chart, students discover the importance of balance in sailing. Read more
