TLC and LCP are . . .
The Learning Castle and La Canada Preparatory were founded on the tenant that every child develops at a different pace. Beginning at four years of age, the schools’ teaching methods and consumable curriculum are geared toward the simple goal of allowing each student to progress at his/her own rate without regard to benchmarks. The current model utilized in most schools today dictates that entire groups of students must move at the same learning rate. In our program, no child is ever left behind, and some students achieve amazing results. TLC/LCP has dozens of documented cases of 4-year-old students who can read, write and do math at or above a third-grade level and beyond. TLC/LCP has gone so far as to create an in-house curriculum called Color Me Smart®.
