Special Events at TLC and LCP

There is a lot more to The Learning Castle and La Canada Preparatory experience than just what happens in the classroom or what can be found in a textbook. The school year is full of special events that enrich the lives of every student.

Book and Art Fair
This annual fair is held at the Barnes & Noble at the Americana. Every student has an art piece on public display along with a host of other fun activities.

Academic Competitions
Students compete in spelling and geography bees locally and beyond. The annual Pi Day competition is one of our more anticipated events.

Graduations
The year concludes with a promotion ceremony for third graders and a bitter-sweet graduation ceremony for our eighth-grade students.

Guest Speakers
Speakers and groups visit TLC and LCP students from the fields of science, literature and history.

End-of-Year Party
A much-deserved ending to a year of hard work. Students enjoy bouncers, games, sports, dancing and a delicious potluck lunch.

Project-Based Learning
From California missions to the inside of a plant cell, project-based learning is a fundamental addition to the TLC/LCP curriculum.

Sports Banquet
Our student-athletes are recognized for their outstanding contributions to the athletic program and the school.

Science Fair
For over twenty years, the TLC/LCP Science Fair has been one of the best in the Foothills.

Academic Awards
Students are publically recognized for their accomplishments in reading, academic competitions, chess, and citizenship.

Spirit Week
Five days at the beginning of May where our students get to let their hair down and show their school spirit.
